Janet Richardson has been making and teaching jewellery for over 40 years. She finds inspiration all around her. She enjoys flowing forms and translucent stones and she likes her pieces to enhance the wearer and be treasured forever. At the moment wings seem to pop up in her work, whether they are of a filigree nature or the wings of a plane.

She recently won a double gold award in the Goldsmith's Craft & Design Council Awards (GC&DC Awards), known as the Oscars of the jewellery and silversmithing world, for her necklace incorporating cow's horn.

The projects and techniques she teaches, she has incorporated in a book 'Silver Jewellery Making', written with co-author Machi de Waard. The book has reached the best seller and most gifted book lists on Amazon.

As well as at Artists at Goring you can see her work at various exhibitions and arts trails and up-to-date details of these can be found on her website. Meet her personally at Artists at Goring and find out more about the world of jewellery and silversmithing.
